- Near-eye information system for motorcycles
We helped BIKEsystems raise over £100,000 with the majority coming from a very successful crowd funding campaign.
BIKEsystems came to Bluefrog Design with a challenge. Develop their BIKEhud system from concept to manufacture within 12 months, and claim the title of the world’s first ‘head-up display’ system for motorcycles on the market. We took the challenge and a year later BIKEsystems launched BIKEhud, claiming the prize.
The Journey
To achieve this speed to market, our consumer product design team worked closely with BIKEsystems and their electronics partner to develop the product through prototyping and field testing. Alongside the industrial design activities we conceived the product graphics, corporate identity and branding, as well as originating marketing materials to support the product launch at two motorcycling exhibitions, Motorcycle Live (NEC) & EICMA (Fiera Milano).
The Outcome
But all of this costs money… with our knowledge of available funding opportunities, we helped BIKEsystems raise over £100,000 with the majority coming from a very successful crowd funding campaign. With this in place, we sourced and managed the production of injection mould tooling and the initial production run. This ensured any issues were quickly resolved and the transition to full manufacturing by BIKEsystems was a straightforward and seamless process.
